Bernal Heights Hill is one of San Francisco’s favorite open spaces. It’s a grassy, windswept summit above a neighborhood of colorful houses and winding streets, with some of the best views in the city: downtown, Sutro Tower, the Bay Bridge, and on clear days all the way across the bay. I’ve walked every street around it, and it’s still one of my favorite places to watch the city wake up.
